The Club recently completed a very successful 2022 Gala Fishing Competition after the Covid restrictions disrupted this premier event in 2020 and 2021.
It was great to be able to run a full-blown event this year with lots of entrants from BMYS and visiting Clubs including Knox, Wangaratta/Albury and Orbost.
There were many fantastic prizes on offer for the event which was very generously supported on this occasion by Club major sponsors including Raymarine, Shimano, Easy Tow Trailers, Engel, Blue Nautilus Marine, All Commercial Real Estate, Moose Marine, Lone Star Marine, GME and Streaker Marine.
The event was able to proceed on both days with generally good ‘snapper’ weather prevailing.
Prize winners included:
Ian Whiteside, Alby Thomas/Ken Graves, Geoff Hill, Les Sabo/Michael Busuttil/John Bacon and John Giuliano recorded good snapper catches on the Saturday.
Congratulations to all the award winners and to all those who took part including members from visiting Clubs.
Roger Hartley was the winner of the major participation award of a Raymarine Axiom Pro-sounder which was generously donated by Raymarine/Moose Marine.
BMYS and the Fishing Committee would like to thank all participants for entering the competition, particularly the event sponsors, for their generous contributions.
It was a tremendous effort by the Club's Fishing Committee (see cover picture) in successfully organising and conducting the 2022 Gala and this was enthusiastically acknowledged by those present at the end of the Sunday luncheon.
Also, thanks to Club Manager Anthony Heyde and staff for their excellent support of the event and particularly the great BBQ Sunday luncheon.
