
The 2019 35th BMYS Gala Fishing Competition was held over the past weekend of November 9th -10th under challenging conditions. Saturday‚'s competition was suspended due to a strong wind warning. The event was able to proceed on the Sunday with windy conditions and rough seas still prevailing. Given the conditions there were no really early starters and boats began launching around 4.30 to 5.30 am.

The Moose Marine/Raymarine participation prize was a ‚Raymarine Element 9 HV GPS/sounder‚Äù (RRP $1,900). This impressive unit comes with Australian maps and is capable of HyperVision, DownVision, SideVision and RealVision and was won by an elated Aaron Alexander from the Knox Club Fishing Club.
John Stav from JV Marine attended the Saturday night and helped start the raffle draws on both Saturday and Sunday. The JV Marine display of a Yellowfin plate aluminium boat in the carpark drew a lot of interest and added to the colour of event.
