36th Gala Fishing Competition @ BMYS 20th/21st November
It was great to be able to run the annual Gala Fishing event this year after the 2020 event was canceled because of Covid restrictions.
This year‚'s competition was a modified event to ensure all prevailing Covid rules and regulations were observed and to keep all participants and members safe.
The event was able to proceed on both days with generally cool and windy conditions prevailing.
Prize winners included:
Largest snapper - Andrew Smith (BMYS)
Heaviest Bag/number of species – Eddie Zahra (BMYS)
Joe Natoli, John Giuliano and son Thomas, Roger Hartley, Alby Thomas, Vince Clarke and Francis Straford were also among the BMYS award winners.
Barry Stewart/Vince Clarke and Alby Thomas/Ken Graves recorded good snapper catches on the Saturday.
Congratulations to all the award winners and to all those who took part including members from visiting Clubs (including Knox, Wangaratta/Albury).
Roger Hartley was the winner of the major participation award of a Raymarine Element 12” Chirp Sonar/GPS which was generously donated by Raymarine/Moose Marine and presented by Anthony Cooke Director Moose Marine (pictured).
BMYS and the Fishing Committee would like to thank all participants for entering the competition and particularly the event sponsors for their very generous contributions.
