Thirty-five members and friends joined with 10 boats for the Club's weekend away at Eildon. We took advantage of the beautiful weather, with a temperature of around 30 degrees.
The weekend started with a fantastic meal on Friday night at the Eildon Boat Club where we were made very welcome by the Committee and members.
On Saturday morning, everybody launched and got out on the water for a cruise around the lake with some waterskiing while others fished or just enjoyed the lake.
Club members Michael Shacklock and Noelyn Shacklock had their houseboat, ‘The President’ set up on the lake. They welcomed members to raft up against the houseboat and use it as a base for swimming, stand-up paddle boarding, fishing or just relaxing. A big thanks to them for their generous hospitality.
We had a visit from Club members Elliott Lewis and Nicole Lewis on their boat ‘Rabelais 4’ who came to help some of the members learn how to ski, unfortunately, some were beyond help!
The group came together for a BBQ lunch which was accompanied by some nice salads.
After a big day out on the water, the Boating Committee arranged a great BBQ dinner at the rear of our accommodation. Thanks go to all the helpers on the night.
Special mentions - to Tracy Baksa for being the first into the water and to Ann Donchos for being the loudest in the water. Also to Michael Shacklock for catching the only fish and to Gary Viner for the most spectacular crash off the jet ski. Hein Preller was prominent by being first up on the water skis! Noelyn Shacklock starred for making the best cocktails. Elliott Lewis demonstrated his professional skiing skills on the 'Ridiculous Board'. Anita Giuliano had fun getting up on her first attempt on the SUP board and finally to Hein for taking some fantastic drone footage.
Thanks to the Boating Committee and other helpers for ensuring that a great weekend was enjoyed by all.
