This event was well supported by Club members who faced varying fishing conditions with winds at time being on the strong side.
The event featured a sausage sizzle on Saturday and Pizza truck catering for lunch on Sunday and some great prizes, including raffle prizes.
Richard Crossland was the winner of the Jamie Hipkin Memorial Trophy, which included a $1500 Port Douglas accommodation package donated by the Hipkin family. Tim Hipkin and his daughter Prue presented the trophy.

Fishing Director Steve Lopes thanked Joan Wright and the Wright family for their very generous donation in support of this year's Family Fishing event. For many years, Wayne Wright and his store at Southern Sportfishing at Black Rock were a longstanding and consistently generous supporter and a major sponsor of the BMYS. Wayne passed away in 2023.
Steve also thanked Streaker Marine, who are a major sponsor of BMYS for their exceptional support of the Family Fishing event.
