Major sponsor Streaker Marine hosted the Club’s Family Fishing Day on Sunday 19th March.
Event participants experienced overcast and breezy conditions and mild temperatures that weren’t ideal, but these conditions didn’t deter an enthusiastic turnout from Club members.
Congratulations to Eddie Zahra and Mark Hyland who returned to base with a splendid catch of snapper, large whiting and other species which caused plenty of shock and awe around the weigh-in station. Apparently, Mark did a great job putting Eddie onto his best fishing marks! Unsurprisingly both Eddie and Mark were major prize winners on the day.
Both members and juniors recorded other good catches.
There were lots of great prizes awarded in both the secret weight and heaviest fish categories.
Streaker Marine had one of their new Yellowfin 5800 boats on display beside the Clubhouse (see the picture in the gallery).
Chef Armin prepared an excellent BBQ lunch, served in the downstairs area of the Club.
